Today when I scanned my Blogger Dashboard to tweet about some cool events in the genealogy world, I noticed an FGS entry below the Indiana Genealogical Society in particular:
So this has got to be an interesting one, I thought. A SOLD OUT workshop. Maybe I could learn something. Then I saw the "FGS Conference News Blog" as the author. Oh! That's my workshop. Keep reading... Oh! That's my name. Is this an April Fool's Joke? This is indeed very flattering! Yes, I drank my V8 (low sodium, that is).
I'll admit, I got so serious about this conference—in which I'm schedule to do three different classes—that I turned everything in so early and almost forgot about it. So I'm ready! But maybe a bit too ready for my brain to catch up, so it seems.
Currently, I'm distracted with two major events in my life. One is this week's workshop at Elk Grove Village Public Library (and the subsequent second workshop in two more weeks). The second one is about a great genealogical adventure that I'm going on (more about that a month or so). So seeing this updated from my friends at the Federation of Genealogical Societies Blog was a pleasant surprise.
What kind of scanning workshop would be so popular? |
